    • Manchester Methods Summer School
      The inaugural Manchester Methods Summer School will be held at the University of Manchester from June 17 -21, 2013. The school will offer a range of intensive courses, taught by experts in each field. The courses on offer this year focus on social network analysis (two courses), SEM and GLVM modelling, Romani studies, and Ketso.

    • Researching Work and Family: Methods across disciplines
      This workshop examines work and family research across disciplines (organizational psychology, sociology, management studies) from the viewpoint of the doctoral researcher. Leading scholars in the work-family field will talk about work-family research methods and our keynote speaker will be Professor Gary Powell, visiting from Connecticut University USA.

    • Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis
      In this interdisciplinary seminar we will try to provide 'hands-on insights' into what IPA is and can do, offer methodological reflections on the basis of case studies, and point to tensions between, for instance, rigorous micro-analysis, the 'phenomenological attitude' and the critical analytical basis from which many social scientists operate.
