Annual competition for methods-related projects
methods@manchester is an initiative supported by the Faculty of Humanities, University of Manchester. It aims to:
• highlight the depth and breadth of methodological expertise in the social sciences at the University of Manchester
• promote and facilitate methodological excellence, innovation and inter-disciplinarity
For three years we ran an annual competition for small grants to support methods-related activities. Applications were invited for activities that extended, developed or promoted methods through: inter-disciplinarily; innovation; international collaboration; new technologies; or new course development.
There was funding of up to £5000 each. The titles and aims of the successful applications from the 2009 competition, 2010 competition and 2011 competition are available.
These awards stimulated further activity in the form of: grant applications, new collaborations and new courses/training activities.
